The proposal is emphasizing the island character of the existing site, focusing on the creation of its own internal ecosystem, the archipelago concept is establishing a combined landscape and architecture strategy. The vectors of traffic and flow on the site culminate as a vortex of loops. The networks of roads are creating an ascending topology of housing and mixed used programs. The resulting massing can be inhabited at multiple scales and functions. With the need for premium green space, the Thick Landscape would offer each housing unit its own yard as well as planters for vertical gardens. The terraced landscape allows for more exposure to daylight.
